33 weeks with Baby #2

Week of August 18, 2013

33 weeks 3 days...we had just come back
from my Birthday Dinner :)
How Far Along? 33 Weeks

Due Date: October 6, 2013

Total weight gain/loss: I haven't stepped on the scale this week but at my doc appointment I was down 1 from the last time I was there, so 12-14...somewhere in there

Maternity clothes? Yes of course!

Stretch Marks? yes, I have a developed a few more believe it or not...

Sleep: Horrendous! I am up like 8 times a night...blah

Best moment this week: I have a few...but I will start with the sad. We had a very close friend lose their baby at 37 weeks to a very rare genetic condition. It was a whirlwind of them finding out about the condition and then having to induce and then the baby only survived for 20 minutes or so. Being pregnant myself this made me extremely anxious. She hadn't suspected that anything was wrong and just went into her 36 week appointment and her whole world changed.
And not that I have any reason to suspect anything, but I was a little more hypersensitive to this baby, and we were in Chicago all weekend and super busy and I slept horrible, so I wasn't feeling the baby move quite as much as before, which only further worried me. But at my Doctor appointment on Tuesday I was measuring right on schedule, which is the best indication that my blood sugars are not making this baby too big!! and the heart rate was in the 150s.  She reassured me that I have no reason to suspect anything to be wrong with this baby. And also said that if she had any worry whatsoever she would go completely overboard with tests and things. SO YAYYYYY

And the second thing is that...being that I'm a few days late in posting this...I'd have to say becoming an aunt on monday! My brother in law and his wife had their beautiful baby girl on monday!!

Wednesday 8/21/13
33 weeks 3 days
Movement: Baby was a little sleepy last week but we are back to moving like normal. Which makes this mama happy

Food cravings: Nothing really

Food aversions: none

Gender: I haven't a clue anymore...

Labor Signs: none yet, and it better stay that way!

Belly Button in or out? never went out with little man...so still in!

What I miss: sleeping through the night...but I guess it will be a few weeks until that happens.

What I am looking forward to: We are having a review session with our Bradley Method instructor on Sunday and I'm hoping it will help ease my anxiety about labor...I'm hoping I'm just remembering the bad parts and then its just taking off in my head...I mean I've done it once, I can do it again right? And they say its not so bad the second time.

Size of the Baby:

Baby's now the size of a honeydew!
Things are heating up inside as well: Baby may grow up to a full inch this week alone, and his brain is developing like crazy. Pretty soon, he'll be able to coordinate breathing with sucking and swallowing. Also, his bones are hardening, and he's started to keep his eyes open when he's awake.

5 years!!

**this was back in June...I don't know why or how this moved to August**

Its been a crazy few weeks, and I've been busy working and soaking up what little time off I have not sleeping with my babe.

But last month Adam and I celebrated 5 years of marriage together. Sometimes it's really hard to believe that it's been that long. In looking back I was so young to have gotten married, only 22, practically a baby in today's standards and I honestly wouldn't change a thing. I feel so fortunate to have chosen (or been chosen to have) such a wonderful partner in this life.

It's been a crazy ride, and there are some things that I wish would have been different but through it all we've stuck together good bad and ugly.

Everyday I'm reminded what a blessing Adam is in my life. It almost brings me to tears to think of how wonderful of a man, husband and father he is. He's not 100% perfect. But I'd say 95%! :)

For our 5th anniversary we kept it really low key. We aren't big on celebrations or gifts or making a big deal of it.

I did however get a cake from a local bakery...pregnancy craving much...then mom and dad watched little man so we could go out to dinner together just is, which I think we've only done twice since he was born and both of us debated on bringing him. What can I say, we love our time with him...

We went to mama Corolas, my absolute FAVORITE place to eat ever. We both had our usual, manicotti for me and carbonara for Adam.  Delish!

Yumm yumm

After dinner we picked our love bug and watched Nemo and ate our cake before bed.

It was a great day and I'm so blessed where my life has taken me and it was great reminder of all that God has blessed me with.

Here's to many more baby!! Love you more now than ever!

32 weeks with baby #2

Week of August 11, 2013

How Far Along? 32 weeks holy cow!

Due Date: October 6, 2011

Total weight gain/loss: 13-14 depending on the day
32 weeks, slowly getting there :)

Maternity clothes? you better believe it :) I'm way more stylish pregnant than not...they really need to make no maternity clothes this easy to buy...

Stretch Marks? I wish I could embrace them...

Sleep: minus getting up 8x a night to pee. It's ok. It's harder for me to sleep during the day so I end up "watching" some friends to keep my mind off everything and then I actually get some sleep

Best moment this week: our maternity pictures were today and I think they went really well. I really love our photographer and I can't wait to see what she came up with. And my sister was unexpectedly in town so it was nice to spend the afternoon with her. Will she move home already???

Movement: yes!!! I cherish being the only one this kiddo gets to let know he/she is alive at the moment.

Food cravings: Nothing really
Sunday August 11, 2013
32 Weeks
Food aversions: none

Gender: I don't know...it gives me a headache and stresses me out to think about

Labor Signs: none yet :)

Belly Button in or out? never went out with little man...so still in!

What I miss: not waking up a billion times a night

What I am looking forward to: going to chicago to visit with stace and Ian one last time before the baby comes and getting to go to the cardinals/cubs game...and the weather is supposed to be nice and not super hot which will be good for this very preggo mama.

Size of the Baby:

Baby's now the size of a squash!
Ready or not, baby's getting ready to emerge. She's probably in the head-down position by now, with her bottom facing up. This is the comfiest way for her body to fit in your increasingly cramped womb and will make her eventual exit (only a few months away now!) much easier. (If she's still head-up, don't panic -- there's still time for a flip before birth.)

31 weeks with baby #2

Week of August 4, 2013

How Far Along? 31 weeks...single digit weeks left....crap!

Due Date: October 6, 201
31 weeks 2 days on my way to work

Total weight gain/loss: still up only 13.

Maternity clothes? you better believe it :)

Stretch Marks? I wish I could embrace them...

Sleep: wasn't too bad. Adam was a little better with his snoring which helped a lot! But I'm starting to get up a lot to pee!

Best moment this week: my mom sucking it up and going to 3 doors down with me!! At the last minute everyone bailed on me and I didn't want to go to a concert alone. So mom, who HATES music to her core, sucked it up and went with me. I need to remember all these sacrifices she makes for me when she gets on my nerves. She really is a wonderful mom!

Movement: yes!!! Though not always at the best time...like when I'm trying to sleep, getting me prepared for when he/she actually arrives I suppose!!

Food cravings: everything I can't have...
Tuesday August 6, 2013
31 weeks 2 days
Food aversions: none

Gender: I don't know...it gives me a headache and stresses me out to think about

Labor Signs: none yet :)

Belly Button in or out? never went out with little man...so still in!

What I miss: being able to get things done super fast without having to take breaks. I feel like it takes me 3x as long to do simple tasks...I'm working on lincoln's new room and refinishing a dresser and I swear it's taking forever!!!

What I am looking forward to: our maternity pictures this weekend and getting Lincoln's new room done and him moved into it!

Size of the Baby:

Baby's now the size of a squash!
Baby's going through major brain and nerve development these days. His irises now react to light, and all five senses are in working order. (He won't pick up anything from his nose until after birth, though -- smell is transferred through air, not amniotic fluid.)
